Cura Smiles proudly announces the successful conclusion of its $50,000 matching campaign in partnership with the Lucky Duck Foundation. By the end of the campaign in early October, Cura Smiles raised an impressive total of $56,000, resulting in $106,000 dedicated to providing free dental care to people in underserved communities. This collaboration highlights the commitment of both organizations to serve those in need and address the critical issue of access to dental care in San Diego.

Take the inspiring story of Kakuze, who migrated to the U.S. from Congo, and found relief from severe tooth pain thanks to the dedicated volunteer doctors at the clinic. With further treatment, there is hope for saving her tooth.
Similarly, Veronica's story showcases the transformative power of dental care; after receiving dentures, she has not only regained her health, but secured part-time employment outside the home, and is actively involved in her church. These stories highlight the significant role that Cura Smiles plays in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in underserved communities.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Lucky Duck Foundation and individual donors for their partnership in restoring smiles. In 2023, we served 251 patients and completed 1,350 dental procedures worth $255,000, all free of charge. By November, our 2024 numbers have already surpassed those in 2023, and the funding from this matching campaign will help us increase those numbers even more in 2025.
